OMG:
I'm suppose to get paid 16/hour, but only 12.90/hr goes to bank account. Seriously man, we're just students, why do you do this to us? We pay extra tuition for "coop fee", and work our butts off at coop jobs for the evaluations. Some of us rely on this money to pay for tuition, rent, groceries, and pretty much everything. Coop keeps getting worse and worse.

this OMG

  1. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

It's called taxes - welcome to the real world.

  2. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

$16/hr on co-op? You should be getting $10.50/hr like the other unskilled labour, minus taxes.

  3. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

I don't think taxes are that excessive...

Where else does the money go OP?

  4. Blogger RL Says:

Union fees? I hear those can be expensive. You shouldn't be paying taxes with such low pay, did you fill out your tax forms properly?

  5. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

Some money could be going to Employment Insurance or Canadian Pension Plan. Might also be tax deductions.

  6. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

    lol you accidentally income taxes.

You could use your tuition credits to tell your employer not to make deductions using your employee tax forms (provided to you before or on your first day by your employer).

The only blame here is your own ignorance. Suck it up princess and quit your bitching.

  7. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

probably dont deserve 16 in the first place.

    co-op jobs are a joke

  8. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

A bunch of coop jobs take some of your pay and put it towards a lump-sum payment you get at the end of your employment. Try asking your employer if this is the case; it lets them know you recognize that you're not getting all of your money without you coming off as accusative.

  9. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

You'll get it back next year after you've filled out your taxes. Next time, fill out your T4 correctly!

  10. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

^ Yeah, at the end of the year when you fill out your T4 you will get all that deducted money back because of the age range we fall in, and the minimal amount we get paid. but to be honest....3.10 is a pretty high deduction :S ask your employer!!

  11. Blogger RL Says:

@7: I was getting 33/h last term. How much of that do I deserve? =)

  12. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

^ None of it because your nothing but a regurgitative textbook.

  13. Blogger RL Says:

    ^ Most interesting.
Also, "you're". I highly doubt my nothing is a textbook...

  14. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

LOL @RL. Have to love guys who have nothing to say so they try to act superior by pointing out grammar mistakes. If you can't answer the question deflect it. LOL.

  15. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

Nobody cares man. Why get an account to try to play yourself up?

  16. Blogger RL Says:

@14: I didn't understand wth he was trying to say but I acknowledged reading it =)

@15: I use an account so that people like you have a target for their frustrations =)

  17. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

^ So generous (referring to your second point)

    :)

  18. Blogger RL Says:

^ Well, that's not the real reason. I just don't believe in anonymity (it doesn't exist). So I never post anonymously, keep my fb profile public etc etc.

  19. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

on the same boat my friend. it suckssss

  20. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

for those of you who think coop job is a joke, u dunno anything.
i do bitch work all day, and get paid same amount. and guess what, 3 years of schooling. if your saying that after 3 years of studying my ass off im unskilled, whats the one year and graduation gonna change?
OP, i know what you mean. dont worry ull get it all back at the end of the year :)

  21. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

i hv a feeling ur not in engineering...only engineers get paid right, every other faculty is shitty pay for the same amount of work. some jobs require way more thn 16 per hour to be worth it.

  22. Blogger RL Says:

    #20 = #21...in grammar anyway

Also, #21 is just pulling "facts" out of his ass.

  23. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

20 is just proving that they let the incompetent enrol in this "prestigious" university. Three years of what exactly? Snow shovelling 101?

  24. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

LOL @ RL for $33/hr. Even if you are telling the truth, there is ALWAYS someone who makes more than you do. So you're a fucking retard for putting your wage on here.

  25. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

    lol @ RL
but yea OP I get what you mean. It's hard to manage sometimes. But hang in there, we'll get it back :D

  26. Blogger RL Says:

@bold: I'm well aware of that. For example, Warren Buffet makes much more than me, Michael Bloomberg makes a fuckload more than me (and you...and anyone who visits this website). So by your logic wages should never be mentioned unless you're the top earner in the world. I'll let you see the logic flaw there.

And yes, 33/hour is BB starting wage, then +3 every returning term. So one could make 48/hour with all 6 terms at Bloomberg =)
