People bashing the political views of others are no better than those who bash the religious views of others. I know political views are not a religion, but calling someone a 'winy liberal,' or a 'redneck conservative,' is not real debate. Be reasonable, people!

I get why there is so much love for liberals on this site due to the support for ignatieff wanting to give more money for education; however, that is not the only issue we are voting on.
1. Corporate tax decrease...we are still not completely out of the recession and by lowering it, more corporations will want to invest in our economy and create more jobs.
2. Fighter jets, most people think they are a horrible idea but don't know why we have them. Russia has come into Canada's land in the Artic. It is simply a deterrent to keep them from taking that land.
3. Support to the criminal system - more funding has been given since it costs lots of money to hold people. liberals want to rehabilitate people and allow them into society as soon as possible to save money. if you commit a crime, u should pay the full price. do u really want rapists out on parole?
4. The liberal budget is ridiculous. we are not fully out of the recession yet, but we need to stop spending since our budget is too high. by reducing the corporate tax, jobs will still be created. it is now that the nation needs to start saving before the budget is run up too high.

Well I've compared platforms, candidates, poll statistics, leaders, and party policies. Unless someone does something stupid and ideological in the next 3 weeks to change my mind, I'll be voting Conservative.
If they play their cards right, they might actually get a majority this time... and a majority is all I want, along with a smaller government.

I really dislike living with kids from abroad; it's not because they're from abroad, but they're generally the ones that are spoiled rotten by their families, so a lot of them they come here and treat everyone like crap. I have lived with two in a row that are absolutely filthy, won't pitch in for shared supplies, have stolen food or broken shared plates or utensils without even so much as a 'sorry'... and one of them had the nerve to yell at me when I asked her to take out her own putrefying mass of garbage (after she had made/ordered a giant feast for her friends). Maybe she thinks her roommates are just paid live-in servants that her dad bought for her? Ugh.

This girl in ECON102 sends out a mass email 3 times asking us to tell her the exam format and sends out ANOTHER one telling us she figured it out herself

To the assholes that moved the REV West study lounge desks outside, spent the whole afternoon screaming and otherwise disrupting the entire quad, and then left the desks outside as you left for your CS 100 exam; learn some respect.

I travelled around Hagey Hall looking for a friggin classroom to study in, only to find they are all full of glitter and trophies and costumes. Since when is it a good idea to let small children fucking practice dancing in our buildings during finals and take up all of our rooms?

Anytime I get nervous before I have an exam in the PAC, I just stare at the word "Cum" on the school emblem above the gym doors until I laugh, then I feel fine :)

This year, seven people died at Queens, York was on fire a few times (not to mention a lesbian got beaten up), U of T and ryerson trashed their dorms to disrepair, Western had freaky snow storms and Waterloo... nothing but a few posters. Well I rather be that than anything else... No news is good news to me.

I downloaded an app that doesn't let me on websites for a certain amount of time while i study. Now the only way I have left to procrastinate is by taking extended bathroom breaks.

At first I thought to myself "WTF" when I found out my friend takes adderall to help study. It seems like cheating to me - one is taking a performance enhancing drug. However, I consume caffeine every day... what's everyone's thoughts, UW?

Seriously are all engineer's rude? I know there has to be a few that are polite and awesome to talk to, but all the engineer's I've had the misfortune of meeting are rude as hell! I can honestly say I am sick and tired of their holy than thou attitude. Noone gives a shit that your in engineering! We all work hard to get the grades we want and to get in to our programs, just because your in engineering doesn't mean your better than anyone else.

I've been avoiding OMGUW during this election because I know I'll waste too much time arguing with people who are unwilling to question the political beliefs they were brought up with, or too lazy to do anything more than a vague look at which parties claim vague things that go against their history and vote based on that.

I'm really frustrated with all these anti-Conservative posts. I understand why a lot of people don't like Tories but they do have there positive points, too. One is this, while many other countries including the United States are still struggling with economic problems after a brief depression, Canada has already almost forgotten it happened. Who made that possible? The Tories who spend money on infrastructure to create jobs.

I know that there's only so long we can continue doing this before we need to focus more socially but are we at a place where we can safely do that yet? Looking at the rest of the world still struggling I can't say yes.
