OP here: nope, just a third year girl who happens to be in one first year course and sat in on one of my friends first year classes, and their undergrad officer was talking to them, and a girl stood up and started to complain about how she had "too many exams". I hear them complaining all the time in my class also.

I'm frosh and I can't imagine anyone standing up and complaining about too many exams. We all had exams in highschool too.... In fact, if anything, it's easier here since there are no unit tests every once in a while.

I agree with number 6, Im first year and I find UW way easier than high school. Im way less stressed out here than I was last year.
Im sure you were once a frosh too tho, just sayin.

Even last years frosh were better.
Also, depending on what program you're in, if you're finding UW easier than highschool. Either you're fucked and you just don't know it, or GTFO of arts.

@5 - OP here: yes I was a first year, but I never complained! Im in university for a reason, I understand the workload would be a lot. I guess you seemed to have some problems though.

ah the kids who coasted and now have to work.
complaining is allowed when multiple exams and assignments are allowed.
but in general all frost are whinny (we all wore once but maybe not as bad)

When you have Hell Week like ECE, then you can bitch.
Even then, most of ECE's bitching about Hell Week is done through Facebook saying things like "Hellweek = caffine week"

@9 I never had "problems"; I just get sick of people complaining about first years. Everyone went through first year, everyone had to adjust to the university level, and there's whiny people in every bunch.
I don't know why people need to constantly divide themselves into little groups to pit against others. First years vs upper years. Engineers vs arts. Ethnic group vs ethnic. God, who cares? Can't we just judge people based on their character? I know whiny grad students and I know interesting first years. All this segmentation is a waste of time.

@ 11-ECE isn't the only faculty having a hell week just because other faculties don't name their week midterm week doesnt mean they have nothing to do....grow out of your ENGINEERING bubble...we're all at same level...
@ OP: I agree 100%....maybe reality hits them hard when it does! haha!

I'm post number 7 and I would just like to say I am NOT in arts but thank you for coming out. I find it easier because it's stuff I'm actually interested in, not subjects I'm being forced to take. I study alot more here than I did in high school I'm just saying its less stressful so therefore it is easier on my mental capacity. uuuhhh thank you have a nice day
